The goal of field trips is to have fun, experience the natural world, and gain respect for the tremendous biodiversity and natural riches of our living world.

NOTE: Meet at the regular classroom location before all field trips. We will travel there together.

Marine Field Trip - Saturday 9 February

• Address/Location:
  Meet at the Museum's Staff Entrance at 9:00 a.m. We expect to be back at the Museum by 5:00 p.m.

  We will go to San Pedro (Los Angeles Harbor). We will collect invertebrates off the dock at 22nd Street Landing, then go to the Cabrillo Aquarium and Museum and adjacent tidepools. Low tide is at 14.26hrs. (2:26 p.m.) with an amplitude of -0.86 ft.

• Required Clothing and Equipment:
  • lab notebook
  • your fieldguide to the "Insects of the Los Angeles Basin" (Charles Hogue)
  • towel
  • shoes or sandals that can get wet
  • dry shoes you can change into
  • swim suit (if you like)
  • change of dry clothes
  • wind breaker or jacket
